From the Junior School – Week 9, Term 3, 2017

On Thursday, Mr Furze and I went and visited our Year 3s on camp. When we arrived we were greeted by some very happy and very excited students. It was such a wonderful camp and I would like to thank our students for their positive attitudes and respectful behavior, we were extremely proud of them all. A very big thank you to all the staff who attended the camp. It’s lots of fun but it’s also a big responsibility that they all took very seriously. I’d like to thank them for making camp such a great experience for all of our students. Amazing teachers make a difference. At our assembly on Monday morning we were treated to a very special performance which involved the whole of our Junior School. The special song, A musical journey, featured music from around the world with each year level singing and playing different parts together. Students dressed in traditional cultural costumes from all around the world. It was a great experience, many thanks to all of our students and teachers led by our Performing Arts staff.

On Wednesday 13th September we have our Year 3 Expo at 2pm. We’d love to see our Year 3 parents there to celebrate the term of learning with our students.
On Friday the 15th September at 11.15am we have our House Performances. A great deal of effort and work has gone into these performances by our students and teachers and they are spectacular to be involved in and to watch. We warmly invite all families to attend on Friday.

Our Year 4s are off to camp at Phillip Island on the 18th September and we know they are going to have a fantastic time there. It’s a brilliant camp and a great opportunity to strengthen friendships and relationships within the cohort.

And finally we will finish the term off with our annual Footy Day. This year it will be on the second last day of term, Thursday 21st September and all students are invited to wear their footy colours for a gold coin donation. All donations will go towards buying some goal posts for our ovals. There are fun activities scheduled for the day and we also have a special footy lunch that you can order through Munch Monitor. Everyone should have received notices through Compass outlining all the details for these.

It’s certainly fun and busy times ahead. Have a wonderful week
