Question: If a plant is sad, do the other plants photosynthesise with it?
Photosynthesis is arguably the most important biological process on earth. Because photosynthesis helps control the makeup of our atmosphere, understanding photosynthesis is crucial to understanding how carbon dioxide and other “greenhouse gases” affect the global climate.
This week the Unit 1&2 Biology class has been learning all about photosynthesis. In their practical classes, students had the opportunity to measure the rate of photosynthesis in different light conditions using spinach leaf disks.
Despite the stormy weather, students managed to collect results and collate their data. They then had a discussion about the reliability of results and methods of reducing errors.
