St Vincent’s Giving Day – Friday 9th December
This Christmas, Hazel Glen College will again like to coordinate a ‘food drive’ to help those families who may struggle over the Christmas period. This year, we are asking that each student donate one non-perishable food item. These items will be collected and given to St Vincent de Paul, a local church and organisation who works with local families. On Thursday 6th December, students wishing to participate in this initiative are invited to come to school in casual clothes with food to donate and place in our hampers. If in casual clothing, please ensure they are dressed appropriately (ie closed runners/shoes and shoulder covered tops – no shoe strings). Senior School students are asked to bring along non-perishable items from the following list:
Year 9 – mince tarts, tinned tuna/salmon
Year 10 – Christmas puddings/cakes, tins of ham
Our Senior School awards night is being held on Thursday 13th December in our College gymnasium. This is an extremely important night in our Colleges calendar and one that we highly value. Students who have been nominated to receive an award in the category of ‘Academic Endeavour’, ‘Academic Excellence’, ‘Co-curricular’, or ‘Citizenship’ will be notified during week 10 after senior school exams have been marked. We highly value our students and see this is an extremely important opportunity to recognise both academic achievements and personal best efforts across the Senior School.
