MS Sports Report

J: Hi, my name is Josiah and this is Ava and we are the grade 5 sport captains at Hazel Glen College.

Term 2 has been an amazing term for sport at the college.

Our grade 5/6 students competed every Friday morning against other schools through the district in Netball and AFL.

Our AFL team did lose a game and beat most schools by over 100 points.

Our Netball team showed a lot of grit and managed to get second in the district.

A: Our year 7 and 8 boys’ basketball team was lucky enough to go along to the Victorian College Basketball Championships recently.

The Boys defeated Fairhills, St Monicas College and Doncaster College throughout the day. In the grand final Hazel Glen College won by 4 points in overtime, being crowned champions of the day.

J: Our year 8 students competed in district competitions recently. Hazel Glen went great with our AFL and Netball teams being undefeated and moving into the Northern Metro Finals in the coming weeks.

A: Our year 4-10 cross country team who trains before school on Thursdays have been competing recently. The team have been crowned district champions with over 90% of students making it to the next round.

They will be competing later in the term at the next level of competition to make it into the state championships.

J: We would like to thank all the teachers who are coaches and give up their lunchtimes to train and select teams. Without all of you our program would not be successful. Here are some recent photos of our sporting teams.
