From our intrepid reporters Katerina, Lillie and Zoe (6D)

HOT OFF THE PRESS!

HERE IS THE LATEST NEWS REPORT FROM THE DESKS OF 6D’S ZOE, LILLIE AND KATERINA

In English this term,  the year 6 students at Hazel Glen College have been learning all about informative writing. We have been creating BTN style news reports about various topics around the school, and we have also been researching Australian landmarks. We have made posters about them that have gone up in the learning neighbourhoods.

The BTN reports are coming along very well, and we are sure that Mr Furze is busy with many children’s interviews about the college. The work that the children are putting in is phenomenal and they are all working very, very hard. Some of the students are using some of the new technology in the school to complete their work, such as the green screen, to make their news reports more lively and fun for their audience.

Also in Term 2 we have been creating posters that inform people about famous landmarks in Australia. Students have been planning inquiry questions, researching their landmarks and publishing their work by including drawings and pictures. One thing the we enjoyed was printing things for the first time with our ID cards. Hope you enjoyed!
