ADA—Google Meet With Captain of Melbourne City

Whilst learning from home we were lucky enough to have Scott Jamieson from Melbourne City join one of our Google Meets.

Scott joined us and spoke to us about his life as a professional soccer player.

It all started with Scott Jamieson growing up in a soccer family his mum and dad played professional soccer and when Scott watched his older brother at soccer training, that’s when Scott knew his dream was to become a premier league player. Scott knew that he had to work hard towards soccer and training to make his dream come true.

Scott started playing professional soccer when he was 15, he went to a school that had a similar program to Hazel Glen’s ADA program. Scott also went to Westfield Sports Highschool.

At 15 Scott was given the chance to go to England to train with a Premier League Club called the Bolten Wanderers, he stayed in England for 3 years. He had the real high of being signed for a Premier League Club, he had his ups and downs throughout his career, sitting on the bench was the closest he got to becoming a Premier League player.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for Scott. He left England when he was 18 and came back to Australia to continue his professional career and got signed with Adelaide United, Sydney FC, Perth Glory, Western Sydney Wanders and now he is playing for Melbourne City.

Scott discussed how he has kept himself busy through this time and how to stay motivated throughout. He mentioned that having strong family support helped significantly. We were given the opportunity to ask him questions which he was able to answer in detail.

Scott is a huge inspiration for all of us as he has had to work hard to get to where he is today, he gave us some great ideas on what we can do to achieve our goals.

I also had the opportunity to meet Scott at my soccer club.
