From the Middle School – Week 4, Term 3, 2017

Welcome to this week’s Middle School e-newsletter!

We always enjoy celebrating the great successes of our students across Middle School in our newsletters.  This week I would like to share the successes of the Year 8 students who participated in the Science Talent Quest over the weekend.

What a great demonstration of commitment by our Year 8’s to spend their own time developing their projects and deepening their passion for scienceWell done!

Can I once again please reinforce the importance of our students showing the upmost respect while travelling to and from school by bus while in College uniform.  All students must travel with a valid myki and Hazel Glen College bus pass and behave in a polite manner that allows for a pleasant trip for all.  Serious and repeated public transport infringements may result in a student being refused travel for a period of time.  As a College and community, we want to ensure we have a strong relationship with Dysons as we continue to work with them in providing the best service possible for your children.

A date for your diary is Book Week in Week 6. This is where we celebrate our love of literature with lots of discussions and activities centered around books.  In Middle School, we believe you are never too old to dress up and celebrate something that has been such an important part of our upbringing – books.  Our annual Book character dress up day is on Friday 25th August.  It’s a brilliant day where all students and staff get to show off their creativity and dress up as their favourite book characters. We hope to see all our Middle School students get into the spirit of the day.  We know the staff will be!

We encourage you to continue to check compass on a regular basis to keep up with all the different events happening around the college.

Have a great week!
