From the Middle School – Week 10, Term 3, 2017

Hi and welcome to our last edition of eNews for term 3. It has been another amazing term at Hazel Glen College with so many achievements and so much to be proud of. We continue to be amazed by the wonderful talents and success of our children in the Middle School. We sincerely thank all the parents for their ongoing support of Hazel Glen College. We look forward to even more accomplishments in term 4. Just a quick few highlights from me before I would like to hand over to our Science Domain Leader, Miss Lorraine Watson to put science in the spotlight for this newsletter;

Firstly, I would like to thank all our families that came to the parent/teacher/student conferences last week. I hope you found the interviews informative and a great opportunity to further develop your relationship with your child’s teachers. As always, please continue to communicate with your teachers if you have any further queries about your child’s progress.

Our Night at the Museum for grades 5,6 and 7 held last Tuesday was another very special event. The students put so much effort into their projects and should be extremely proud of how they presented their learning. The parent support was amazing and we certainly had a real buzz around the College. A great celebration of our Humanities subject.

Sport continues to be a massive part of our culture. Our Year 6 girls basketball team has won regionals and hoop time by 1 point in both games, we have never had a hockey team represented before and now have 2x Year 7 and 2x Year 8 teams through to regionals and our Year 7 girls and Year 7 and 8 boys netball made it through to state level. Well done to all our sporting teams across the College for the time and effort they put into their teams.

Thank you all again for a brilliant term 3. Have a safe and enjoyable break.
