From Mr Furze – Update 4, Term 3, 2017

Well here we are, the end of Term 3! With spring now upon us, we hope for a change in the weather. Over the last few weeks we have had a variety of weather come our way. There is something about the warmer weather, blossom on the trees and the chance to breathe in that fresh Doreen air!

What a great term we have had. Once again a huge thanks to our very professional staff team here at Hazel Glen, I am extremely proud of you all. Well done to all on a fabulous terms work.

A reminder for any parents who have not yet enrolled their child for Prep in 2018 – please contact the office to organise your child’s enrolment. Our Prep numbers are continuing to increase.

Hats
With Term 4 now just around the corner a reminder that all students will be required to wear a College hat. We have a very clear policy, ‘No Hat, No Play’. Children without an appropriate College hat will be asked to stay in the shade areas around the College. Thank you all in advance for your support of our program and ensuring our kids are sun smart.

A reminder also that all Middle School (5-8) and Year 9 students change from winter uniform to summer uniform from the first day of Term 4. I have been in contact with uniform supplier PSW and have been assured that all items of our uniform are in stock in their Morang South store.

Building Update
Over the next few weeks there will certainly be a great deal of building activity within the College precinct. Stage 3/4 of the Senior School building program continues to transform the landscape to the west.

Once again we have time lapse cameras focused on the construction site. The cameras take a photo every ten minutes for six months. With cranes moving steel girders across the sky, walls being erected, roofing material slotting into place and the general buzz of workers around the site, the photographic journey of the construction will once again be stunning. We will put it together and launch the final footage upon completion next year.

Security fencing at the front of our STEAM building will be erected over the holidays, for preparation of services before the delivery of our two new double storey relocatable buildings due in the first two weeks of the new term.

A reminder that on Friday children will be dismissed from school at 2.00pm, our final assembly for Middle School will be held at 1.00pm in the Gymnasium. As usual, an action packed program awaits. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Term 3 break and we look forward to seeing all the students safely back at school on Tuesday 10th October for the start of Term 4.
