Eight HGC Senior School students are currently in Cambodia with Mr Milne and Ms Crosthwaite for HGC’s Cambodia World Challenge expedition. The students have spent 18 months preparing, planning and fund-raising for this incredible, life-changing experience; helping to build the life skills young people need to live a life of courage, kindness and adventure.
Over three weeks, the students will lead the expedition which includes trekking the Cambodian countryside, community service in a small school in Siem Riep and tourist exploration of the rich and complex cultural history of Cambodia.
The lessons our students learn during this expedition can’t be taught in a classroom. It is not just culture on offer during this trip of a lifetime. Students will experience steamy jungles, monkey-filled forests, rice paddy fields, the beautiful Cambodian mountain ranges and live heart-warming moments with the local community as they collaborate on local-led initiatives to improve the standards of education and access to vocational training.
