Giving Day – Thursday 6th December 2018
Dear Hazel Glen Families
This Christmas, Hazel Glen College would again like to coordinate a ‘food drive’ to help those families who may struggle over the Christmas period. This year, we are asking that each student donate one non-perishable food item. These items will be collected and given to St Vincent de Paul, a local church and organisation who works with local families.
On Thursday 6th December, students wishing to participate in this initiative are invited to come to school in casual clothes with food to donate and place in our hampers. If in casual clothing, please ensure they are dressed appropriately (ie closed runners/shoes and shoulder covered tops – no shoe strings).
Each Year Level is asked to bring along different non-perishable items from the following list:
Prep – tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, sweet and dry biscuits
Year 1 – cereals
Year 2 – tinned and packet soups
Year 3 – toothpaste, shampoo, toilet rolls, hair conditioner, soap
Year 4 – pasta, tinned tomatoes, pasta sauce, rice
Year 5 – baked beans, tin spaghetti, two minute noodles,
Year 6 – tomato sauce, bbq sauce, cooking oil,
Year 7 – coffee, tea, long life milk
Year 8 – vegemite, jam, honey, flour, sugar, shortbreads
