Junior School Cross Country
Our Prep – 4 Cross Country has been rescheduled to take place on the last day of term, Friday 28 June. Please refer to the Compass note for the times that your child will be participating. We will keep our fingers crossed for a dry morning. We’d love to see you there in your House colours cheering the kids on.

Respectful Relationships
Hazel Glen College is a lead school in the Department program “Respectful Relationships.” This program supports schools and early childhood settings to promote and model respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. At our last Junior School assembly we watched 2 fantastic clips put together by our Respectful Relationships team starring some of our talented students. The clips are now available to watch on our website and below. Hope you enjoy them.

Junior School Student Representative Council ‘Rock Art’ Kindness Project
A big thank you to Emily Hyde and our Junior School SRC for their planning and organisation of the “Rock Art” project. To learn how this fantastic project came about, you can read all about it here. It is so very important that we continue to spread the message of kindness across our college and empower our students to be part of the solution when addressing bullying.

Mid Year Reports
We are celebrating the completion of the first half of the year and another step along your child’s school journey. Teachers have worked extremely hard on their reports which will be distributed to you all via compass this Thursday 27th June. Importantly we encourage parents to view their child’s report in line with the Learning tasks available on Seesaw. This information is vital in ensuring you have a clear understanding of your child’s progress throughout the semester.

It’s hard to believe that we are almost at the halfway point of the school year. I would like to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful staff for their dedication to our students and also thank you, our parent community for your ongoing support and collaboration in your child’s journey at Hazel Glen College. I hope our students have a restful break, ready for a big Term 3.

I hope everyone has a lovely week.

It is hard to believe that we are already reflecting on the first half of the year. So much has happened and we have so much to celebrate. The students attitude towards our College and most importantly their learning in the classroom is a credit to them all and a credit to the values you have at home. The staff at Hazel Glen are incredible! Their hard work and dedication to make our College the best it can be, demonstrates the calibre of teachers we have at our College.

Awards Assembly
Last Thursday, our Middle School Awards assembly was held in our gym. The assembly celebrates the individual achievements of students over our first semester in front of their peers. I would like to congratulate the students who received awards this semester and encourage all our students to work towards receiving an award at our Awards evening held at the end of the year.

Year 6 Camp to Coonawarra
A reminder that our Year 6 camp is being run during Week 1 of Term 3 (Tuesday 16 July to Friday 19 July). While we were disappointed to cancel the camp due to severe weather conditions this term, I am sure the students are as excited as the staff are about enjoying this camp next term.

I would like to finish by wishing all students and families a safe and enjoyable mid-year break and remind you all that we commence term 3 on Tuesday 16th July as Monday is a student free day for all staff to prepare for the term ahead.
